A focus on your goals
As a dedicated therapist, my mission is to support you in developing and achieving your personal goals. I recognize that our unique backgrounds, behaviors, and life experiences shape who we are, and I aim to help you process and grow through yours. In our sessions, we will explore healthy coping strategies, identify and express emotions, and take actionable steps toward a fulfilling future.
My approach to counseling is collaborative; your goals are my priority. No matter your concerns, I am here to meet you where you are, providing the support, guidance, and accountability needed to enhance your well-being and help you find joy in life.
Hi, my name is Whitney and I have made it my life mission to uplift those in my community and the surrounding area seeking mental health services. Let’s face it, life is hard, no matter who you talk to that will be the common theme in a conversation. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t face life’s struggles with a multitude of coping mechanisms in your back pocket. We can create a positive path together whether you struggle with Anxiety, Depression, Life Stressors, Relationships or you just want someone with a great listening ear. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Lisa Gibson, M. Ed, LPC-S. I look forward to helping you build your coping mechanism tool box for any situation that hinders your full potential in life!
Meet Kristina Porter counseling intern with Brighter Day Counseling Services.
While the practice where I work can handle any mental health issue, I excel at addressing stress, anxiety, and depression through the implementation of therapeutic lifestyle changes, relaxation techniques, mindfulness strategies, and building confidence through a collaborative client-counselor relationship. I offer therapy sessions in person and online via video. I'm available most weekdays until 7 p.m. I cannot accept insurance payments, but I offer a reduced cash rate of $30 per session.
I specialize in working with individuals who have a history of trauma, utilizing evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I am certified in DBT and trained in addressing Perinatal/Postnatal mood disorders and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)
